Canadian-made Light Armoured Vehicle burns in Yemen (2019)
For years Canada has been exporting billions of dollars worth of military equipment to countries at war with Yemen. On the night of January 11, 2024, US and UK forces carried out airstrikes on 60 targets in Yemen, with the blessing of the Canadian government. The US and UK have followed up with more airstrikes since.
The Canadian government had previously said it would commit “a handful of personnel to the international task force” led by the United States and titled “Operation Prosperity Guardian”, which (despite whatever Canada claims) is intended to deter a Yemeni naval blockade of Israel-related ships and forcibly ensure the quick supply of goods to the State of Israel, in support of its mass destruction of Gaza, escalation of settler/military violence in the West Bank and its attempt to eliminate the Palestinian people as a people.
